About Beauty Hygiene
What is Beauty Hygiene and who's behind it?
Beauty Hygiene is an independent beauty publication covering skincare, makeup, hair care, fragrance, and wellness for a global audience. We test every product with our own money, accept no PR samples, and update articles regularly to keep advice current.
Beauty Hygiene is an independent publication writing about skincare, makeup, hair care, nails, fragrance, body care, men's grooming and wellness for a global audience. We exist for one reason: most beauty media is an extension of marketing departments, and readers deserve better.
We don't take PR samples. We don't accept paid placements. We don't publish reviews paid for by brands. Every product we test is bought with our own money — and that's the foundation of everything we do.

Our mission
To give readers the tools to make better beauty decisions through honest, evidence-based content — regardless of budget, age, or location.
Editorial standards
Every article on Beauty Hygiene follows a strict editorial process before publication:
- Topic research based on reader questions, search demand, and underserved areas in beauty.
- Drafting using verified sources and primary research.
- Fact-checking against peer-reviewed studies, dermatology guidelines, and industry data.
- Editing for clarity, accuracy, and reader usefulness.
Our product review process
For every product review or comparison:
- We buy every product ourselves. No PR samples, no review units, no exceptions.
- We test over time — at least 4 weeks per product, longer for skincare actives and hair treatments.
- We test in real conditions — daily wear, real environments, real users.
- We disclose affiliate relationships. When a product link earns us commission, we say so. Our review opinion never depends on whether a product has an affiliate program.
What this means in practice: if we tell you a $12 drugstore product beats a $90 luxury one, we mean it — and we've tested both side by side.
The team
Beauty Hygiene is currently a solo-led publication. As the site grows, we plan to bring on certified writers, dermatologists, cosmetic chemists, and trichologists to expand category coverage and strengthen expert review. Author bios and credentials will be published here as the team is formally added.
If you're a beauty professional interested in contributing, we'd love to hear from you — see the contact section below.

Our independence
